JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, the luxury brand of Marriott International, announces that JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, the first Italian hotel and the first resort in Europe of the brand, will open in Venice in March 2015.
The hotel’s 266 rooms is realized in collaboration with the study of Italian architects Matteo Thun & Partners and will be built on the Island of Roses (Sacca Sessola), a private island in the lagoon of Venice.
The study Matteo Thun & Partners has reconverted the present structures on the island, incorporating in the historical buildings a sustainable, elegant and modern architecture.
The island is located about 20 minutes by boat from Piazza San Marco, and there will find place: swimming pools, playgrounds, spa facilities, and many other activities.
In the more than 16 acres of the island, rich in gardens, orchards and vegetable gardens that provide the raw materials for the four restaurants, guests will have the utmost privacy.
The island is ideal for staying in a quiet place, away from the crowd that invades the streets of Venice.
The hotel is also a perfect location for incentive travel and events of the highest level: on the island there are in fact several evocative spaces, such as the ancient church, ideal for events and ceremonies.
