“Venice Tastes the World. Exploring Culinary Excellence in the City of Water” will be the central theme of Aquae Venice 2015, the collateral exhibition of Expo Milano 2015 dedicated to water, organized by Expo Venice Pavilion Aquae in the area Vega 2, via Pacinotti, in Porto Marghera, from May to October.
The exhibition will give visitors “a journey through the flavours and culinary cultures whose common denominator is the water, in his capacity as the basic element of life, raw material, ingredient preparation and preservation”. All this will have an “ethnic connotation for each month of the Expo: regional Italian cuisine in May; China in June; Thai or Vietnamese cuisine in July; South America in August; Japan in September and India in October. “It will be”, explained the creators, “a veritable platform for the promotion of new products, as well as communication techniques and methods for the best industry practices, through a series of events organized by the companies present during the exhibition”.
For the occasion, chefs from around the world will be invited to create an original menu devoted to Aquae Venice, which visitors can taste from 3 May to 31 October, not only inside the pavilion but in the best restaurants of Venice and all the seven provinces of Veneto.
Another section will be entitled “thematic islands” that will delve into the specifics of waters, teas, beers, wines and spirits as well, and – organizers promise – allowing “Tasting and meditative unique experiences” having variety and types of beverages of which will be told story and organoleptic properties. “The “Play and learn” will give the public the opportunity to interact through smart-phones and tablets by voting for the most creative recipes and coming into direct contact with their creators.
